3. Purpose of this site — not legal advice

This website provides general information about our chambers, practice areas, people and how to contact us. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and nothing on this site creates a solicitor–client, counsel–client, or other professional relationship. Formal advice is given only under a written engagement (or other agreed terms of instruction) after conflicts and scope have been considered.

5. Enquiries, consultations and WhatsApp

Forms, email, telephone and WhatsApp links on this site are channels to reach chambers. Sending an enquiry does not mean we act for you. We may decline or refer matters (including for conflicts). Do not send highly sensitive materials until we confirm how to instruct us and how to share documents securely.

WhatsApp is provided by third parties (Meta Platforms). Messages you send there are also subject to WhatsApp's terms and privacy practices, which we do not control.

6. Client portal and staff areas

Login areas for staff, lawyers and instructed clients (including matter reference / PIN access) are for authorised users only. You must keep credentials confidential. We may suspend access if we suspect misuse. Portal content relating to a matter remains subject to the engagement terms for that matter.

7. Intellectual property

Text, branding, layout and materials on this site are owned by or licensed to Reliefs Law Chambers, unless otherwise stated. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, scrape, modify, republish or commercially exploit site content without our prior written consent, except where mandatory law allows.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the site in any unlawful way or to harm others;
• attempt unauthorised access to systems, accounts or data;
• introduce malware or overload the service;
• misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us;
• use automated scraping in a way that impairs the site or violates these terms.

9. Accuracy and changes to content

We aim to keep information accurate and useful, but we do not warrant that content is complete, up to date, or fit for a particular purpose. We may update or remove pages without notice.

10. Third-party sites and tools

Links (including maps, WhatsApp and translation tools) are for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability or privacy practices. Google Translate, if you use the language switcher, is a Google service and may set cookies as described in our Cookie Policy.

11. Professional status

Regulatory and practising status depends on the jurisdiction and the individual providing services. For current status relating to Nigerian or United Kingdom work, contact chambers. Website statements about practice areas describe the kinds of work we handle; they are not a licence or practising certificate.

Nigeria: Practice in Nigeria is conducted in accordance with applicable Nigerian legal profession rules. Edit this line with NBA / call details.
United Kingdom: United Kingdom work is undertaken subject to applicable professional regulation. Edit this line with SRA / Bar / practising status.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Reliefs Law Chambers and its people are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of (or inability to use) this website, or from reliance on its content — whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

Personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Cookie and similar technologies are described in our Cookie Policy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory protections that may apply where you live. Issues concerning our Nigeria office or Nigerian professional duties may also engage Nigerian law. Courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without limiting any mandatory right you have to bring claims elsewhere.
